Adam's Story
"There is definitely the support and opportunities at Ausco Modular for anyone who has the desire to achieve their career goals and learning potential."
When I started with Ausco Modular over 14 years ago, I had just finished my certificate in Carpentry and Joinery and had the intention of working towards a trade. I spent my first few years with Ausco as a Labourer, working in and learning the various sections of manufacturing.
An opportunity came about for me to become a Leading Hand and to supervise up to four team members. It was when I took on this role that I started to develop an interest in the management and the development of people.
I communicated my interest with my managers and they worked with me and provided me with opportunities to develop my management skills. Some of these included the company sponsoring me to complete the Workplace Health and Safety Supervisor and Supervisory training courses.
I was then promoted to Team Leader, where I started coordinating the production activities of one manufacturing line then worked my way up to coordinating the activities of both production lines and managing over forty staff. I was also given the chance to complete a Certificate IV in Frontline Management which I have successfully completed.
I have recently applied for and achieved the Production Supervisor role and I am enjoying the new challenges and responsibility which have accompanied the position.
Throughout the past 14 years I have seen the company grow and there has been considerable change and opportunities. My managers and mentors have played a big part in me achieving my goals. There is definitely the support and opportunities at Ausco Modular for anyone who has the desire to achieve their career goals and learning potential.
