Quick weekend turnarounds are no obstacle for Ausco

Staff from Ausco’s Queensland hire operations has come to the rescue of primary school children in Rockhampton by delivering and installing a replacement classroom in just one day over a weekend, after the building was burnt down in a suspected arson attack.

Ausco, Australia’s largest supplier of modular buildings, was notified early Sunday morning by the Queensland Department of Education, Training and the Arts (DETA) and within three hours had a modular classroom on its way to Glenmore State School. By the Sunday night the classroom was installed ready for school on the Monday.

On receiving the call from Clint Cunial, Ausco’s Education Representative, Charlie McDonald (SEQ Hire Coordinator) and Keegan Studley (SEQ Hire Transport Coordinator), immediately came to the branch to prepare the building and organise transportation to Rockhampton.

Graham Thomas (Branch Manager) and Andrew Moss (Hire Coordinator) from Ausco’s Gladstone operation then arranged and managed the installation on site with contractor Tony Allen. Graham also acted as the local representative for the school.

Ausco Modular is often called upon to provide this type of service to Queensland schools. Delivering complete turnkey solutions in critical situations such as this is a core part of its commitment to providing an integrated, end-to-end service.

Ausco Modular managing director Paul Bailey said the company is perfectly positioned to help.

“Our committed staff, supported by a large national network of fleet hire buildings, are on the frontline of ensuring that we respond quickly when an emergency does occur.

“Ausco Modular works closely with schools throughout Australia to ensure their classroom requirements are met, whether they are immediate installations after an emergency, or custom-designed learning centres,” Mr Bailey said.

Conventional construction is more expensive and often interrupted by bad weather, but modular buildings are constructed within a factory, enabling them to be delivered on-time and on-budget.

“Being constructed off-site, the building was installed at Glenmore State School with minimal disruption to the school area,” Mr Bailey said.
