Ausco Modular introduces Volunteer Leave Program
In 2023, Ausco Modular launched their Volunteer Leave Program as part of the company’s ESG goals and initiatives. Employees are encouraged to to spend 3-4 hours volunteering to a cause or charitable organisation of their choice during working hours.
Ausco’s Brisbane-based hire operations team have dedicated working hours to refurbish and donate relinquished ancillary items from returned buildings to a local charity each quarter. This initiative also assists with landfill reduction.
Ausco buildings on hire are often return to the Brisbane depot with non-Ausco ancillaries included. These items include chairs, desks, filing cabinets and small whitegoods. Once the customer has provided authority to dispose of such items, the team sorts, cleans and electrically tests all goods before they are transported and donated to a local Lifeline outlet.
It’s estimated that over a 12-month period, the donated goods will reduce 43.2m3 of landfill.
