Beautiful child care centre delivered for struggling regional town
In Karoonda, leaving young children in someone else’s care for more than one day per week has not been an option at all – until now. Faced with booming demand, the Karoonda District Council were keen to expand their service to cater for the local community.
The council recognized an opportunity to provide facilities for their community and successfully received funding via the Drought Relief Grant to support the project. Local government parties soon identified Ausco was the only company able to manage the whole job in-house, in the short 6-month time frame and to the budget.
Ausco Modular’s local Adelaide branch worked closely with the District Council CEO, Matthew Morgan, Local Federal Member, Tony Passin, and Mayor, Caroline Phillips, to achieve a light-filled, open space for the community to enjoy.
The final product is a modern, eye-catching 190m2 facility which includes a large, colourful play area, community hub, kitchen & bathroom facilities.
"6 months. $550k. Design and construct a child care centre and community hub from start to finish. We did it. This is a big win for our community and the economic and social benefits will be realised for years to come. It’s days like this that you remember why we worked so hard for our communities.”
