Modern modular homes

Modular construction proves to be a fast and replicable housing solution for government worker accommodation

Ausco Modular has delivered eight modular two and three-bedroom homes for regional frontline workers, such as police officers, nurses and teachers, for the Queensland Government as part of its response to the national housing crisis. Delivered mid-2023 to St George, Injune and Mitchell in western Queensland, the homes aimed to relieve the pressure on the housing supply in regional areas of the state.

Modular construction is part of the modern methods of construction, which is a technique distinguished by a significant reduction in construction waste, faster delivery and limited time onsite. This was the first housing alliance between Ausco Modular and QBuild.

Ausco’s Brisbane-based team successfully completed the project within the designated timeframe and to budget through effective collaboration with QBuild, their contractors, and stakeholders. The exceptional quality and finish of the delivered product, along with the collaborative relationship developed during the project, earned Ausco valuable positive feedback from the client.

“Modular construction is an ideal solution for applications such as the Government’s housing strategy. At Ausco Modular, we can rapidly deploy very high-quality homes, and other spaces, when there is a consistent design by setting up a production line not unlike other manufacturing industries.”
