Reverse-Cycle Air Conditioning Units
Our reverse cycle air conditioners provide reliable heating and cooling year-round. In winter, they’ll warm up your site fast—perfect for site offices, lunchrooms and meeting spaces. There's nothing worse during a cold snap than the units not running as well as they should, so here are a few handy tips to keep your AC in tip top shape.
✅ Check that the heating function works! There's nothing worse than no heat when you need it most, so before temperatures drop too much, change your unit to heating mode and ensure that it blows hot air for at least 10 minutes.
✅ Pro tip: Check the filters! Dirty filters restrict how much air moves through the unit and also negatively affect efficiency, so to avoid less heating and higher energy use, give the filters a vacuum and even a rinse under the tap to ensure they're completely clean.
✅ Check the external portion of the unit! - Leaves, dirt and other debris on sites can build up on the exterior of the AC unit, causing reduced performance. Making sure the outside is clear is just as important as checking the internal filter.
✅ Check the drain holes - In single digit temperatures, ice can form on the outside of the unit as it works hard to keep your building comfortable. The units have a function that melts the ice, so it's very important to ensure the drainage holes are clear, allowing water to safely drain from the enclosure.
