Adelaide Airport Terminal Extension

Long-term site setup for large infrastructure project

Adelaide Airport is the fifth-largest domestic and international airport in Australia and processes more than eight million passengers annually.

A major $165 million project was announced to expand the main airport terminal to significantly upgrade international arrivals and departures and create more retail and dining options for both domestic and international travellers.

Watpac, one of Australia’s leading construction businesses, was appointed to deliver the construction management for the project and approached Ausco Modular’s local Adelaide Hire branch for various site facilities for the team and contractors.

Ausco was able to deliver and complete the installation on site in the short time frame required for setting up, providing various temporary buildings to be used for a general office complex, meeting rooms, lunchrooms, changerooms and amenities, first aid and safety room and more, plus all applicable engineering requirements.

Covered external breezeways were constructed once the buildings were on site to create a shield from potential adverse weather conditions on site, allowing staff to move between the building complexes with ease both reducing downtime and increasing productivity.

It was projected that the project would create as many as 200 jobs for local South Australians and positively impact the economy, including greater tourism opportunities.

Ausco Modular’s large fleet of mobile buildings in a variety of sizes and configurations suit any situation so no matter where the site is, no matter what the conditions, Ausco has a transportable building solution for you.
