Strong, Smart & Sustainable - Our MMC Houses

Despite being built off-site, you would never know our MMC homes are modular when you step inside due to the high standard of the materials used and the quality control achieved through factory construction. These aren't dingy demountables, this is high quality housing, delivered to all corners of the state.

These modular houses have a 50 year design life and been designed to meet the requirements within the national construction code with a long design life and a number of features to make them safe, comfortable and liveable for people with all abilities.

  • Fully wheelchair accessible and disability compliant.
  • Zero transition doorways, wider hallways and larger bathrooms to accommodate mobility aids.
  • Built with predetermined mounting points behind the walls to retrofit grab handles and railings, ensuring easy installation of extra mobility assistance if required in future.
  • Designed in accordance with the Queensland Liveable Housing Requirements.
  • Achieves a target of 'Gold' level compliance for liveable housing as per Queensland Government targets.

The MMC homes are some of the highest quality modular structures that Ausco have built, meeting the standards of the Queensland Government and providing a modern, comfortable place to live for people of all abilities and backgrounds.

Another important consideration was designing with sustainability and low maintenance in mind. These buildings will be located in areas subject to high heat and extreme weather, so ensuring that they're able to tackle even the toughest conditions while remaining comfortable inside was of utmost importance. The homes feature:

  • Minimum 7 Star NatHERS Energy Rating
  • Fully cyclone rated to the same quality as a traditionally built house*
  • Heavy insulation with batts in the ceiling, walls and floor space.
  • Passive shading to reduce heat transfer into the living areas.
  • High performance thermal glass to reduce heat transfer through windows.
  • Large windows and raised footings to capture breeze, creating airflow.
  • Split system air conditioning and ceiling fans.
  • Futureproofed design to accommodate future solar and battery installation.

Designing our MMC houses to meet these standards while also having the ability to deliver them across the state in individual pieces is no small task. Our talented teams from the design side all the way through to the factory and installation staff have done an incredible job providing modern, safe and comfortable homes for Queenslanders.
