A key advantage of modular buildings is their ability to be redeployed as and where your need is greatest. This exact situation presented itself at Bracken Ridge High School and Brighton State School, towards the north of Brisbane.
After being targeted by an arsonist on November 25th, Laidley State High School, in conjunction with Queensland’s Department of Education needed to act quickly to ensure that students would be able to resume classes as normal in the next school year.
Faced with a short-term need for new classrooms, but without an easily accessible site, Coolum State High School needed to find a provider who could provide great quality buildings but who also had installation expertise enough to cope with the constraints of placed upon them.
With a rapidly growing student population, TKIS faced a familiar challenge - keeping the school operational while also putting in place the facilities that would allow for successful operation in the coming years. Not only were facilities a problem, but TKIS also faced problems of vehicle congestion each afternoon.
Eumundi State School, a reputed school that has been providing education to the local children for more than 100 years, was in need of two new classrooms to accommodate the growing number of students.
This project came with several key challenges:
• a requirement to work alongside other trades on-site;
• meeting working at height safety regulations; providing a seamless blend between the existing façade and the design of the child care centre;
• remaining flexible with construction timelines.
